Normanhurst West Public School

This public primary school in Thornleigh has a great community focus and is relatively small in size, with around 360 students. The highly rated teachers and beautiful, leafy grounds make it a real asset to the area. A wonderful all-round option for families looking for a great public school.

Thornleigh West Primary School

Thornleigh West PS is a well-regarded public school in a beautiful bushland setting. It has a distinct multicultural flavour, with 30 percent of the students coming from language backgrounds other than English. This girls-only, academically selective public school has operated since 1930 in heritage buildings next to Hornsby’s business centre. With a strong academic reputation, it also prides itself on providing a caring and supportive environment for its students.

Loreto Normanhurst Catholic School

Established in 1897, this private Catholic girls’ school is part of a worldwide network of Loreto schools, and one of seven in Australia. With expansion plans including a new bush chapel and other buildings, the school will increase its numbers from 1150 students to 2000 over the next few years.

Barker College

Founded in 1890, this private Anglican school is transitioning towards being fully co-educational, with a co-ed senior school and primary school girls set to join in 2019 (year 3) and 2020 (year 7).

Abbotsleigh

This highly rated independent day and boarding Anglican girls’ school runs from preschool to year 12. This means your daughter can spend all her school years in one place. Abottsleigh has two large campuses in Wahroonga, and boasts a public art gallery, an award-winning sports hall and a state-of-the-art aquatic centre that is open to the wider community. Established in 1885, it is selective from year five onwards.
